Herbal extracts are not created equal. Have you ever bought a product with similar ingredients, yet one gets amazing results and the other average. Why?
The quality of herbal extracts vary depending on various factors. The climate and growing conditions mean that every batch of herbs has different properties and completely different healing abilities.
This is why our extracts are standardised herbs. The quality does not vary from batch to batch. It is consistent, which means results are consistent as well. Standardisation means the percentages of beneficial ingredients are known. The quality is tested. Buying a bag of herbs and making an infusion has nowhere near the same quality as a standardised cosmetic extract.
Whilst the idea of a bowl of herbs being photographed and presented as your cosmetics seems appealing, it lacks any quality regulation. Many green companies take photos of herbs in containers and state this is the beginning of making your cream. Whilst some do this, the quality is not the same as a commercially prepared extract that has undergone testing to determine the percentage of actives present.
This is why we choose to stock Roccoco Botanicals as they use standardised extracts. It is part of ensuring consistent quality.
